Keeping the lines of communication open with your kids is the best way to help them become successful adults. Plus, if you're discussing issues and impressions, you're connecting! Maintaining open communication is difficult with kids between the ages of 8 and 12 (we call them “tweens”) so it’s one of our greatest goals.
Our second focus is helping kids learn to make good choices for themselves so they can grow into independent teens. We cover topics that revolve around choices on our website, in our free emails and in our e-zines. We’ll give you some practical advise to encourage discussion between you and your tween.
The best way to utilize our web site is to become a subscriber and receive our notes and our monthly e-zine. Our notes give you basic information about a variety of topics but our e-zine is truly special. As a member of coolkidschoose.com, you can access our parents e-zine PLUS an e-zine for your tween! Two e-zines for the price of one! The parent version and the tween version cover many of the same topics so you can share the information with each other for some great family discussions.

What's New...
Our first book, Austin's Best Idea Ever, is a heartwarming story about a boy whose mother has breast cancer. This story for kids ages 6-10 is now in all the hospital and cancer center lending libraries in Maine thanks to a grant from the Maine Cancer Foundation. Austin's Best Idea Ever is also available through your local book store or our online store!
